  • FOR THIS YOU WILL NEED TO RENEW YOUR PASSPORT. APPLY FOR NEW PASSPORT WITH APPLICATION TO CHANGE DETAILS WITH YOUR MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE.

  • PCC should be issued by PSK (Passport Seva Kendra) for it to be valid for your immigration puspose. (PCC issued by local police stations are no longer valid)
  • Validity of PCC for the purpose of immigration to USA: 1 Year

HOW TO APPLY


Online Form Submission
  • Register through the Passport Seva Online Portal. (Link for PSK Registration Form Click Here]
  • Login to the Passport Seva Online Portal with the Login ID.
  • Click "Apply for Police Clearance Certificate" link.
  • Fill in the required details in the form and submit.
  • Click the "Pay and Schedule Appointment" link on the "View Saved/Submitted Applications" screen to schedule an appointment.
  • Online Payment has been made mandatory for booking appointments at all PSK/POPSK/PO.
  • Online Payment can be made using any one of the following modes:
    Credit/Debit Card (MasterCard and Visa)
    Internet Banking (State Bank of India (SBI) Associate Banks and Other Banks)
    SBI Bank Challan
  • Click the "Print Application Receipt" link to print the application receipt containing Application Reference Number (ARN)/Appointment Number.
  • Carrying printout of Application Receipt is no longer required. An SMS with your appointment details is also accepted as proof of appointment during your visit to Passport Office.
  • Visit the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK)/Regional Passport Office (RPO) where appointment has been booked, along with original documents.
Options for required documnets at PSK

Carry your original passport and two IDs from below list with their copies.

  • Aadhaar Card/e-Aadhar containing the 12 digit Aadhaar number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India(UIDAI)
  • Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC)
  • Service Photo Identity Card issued by State/Central Government, Public Sector Undertakings, local bodies or Public Limited Companies
  • Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe or Other backward class Certificate
  • Arms License issued under the Arms Act, 1959(54 of 1959)
  • Pension Document such as ex-servicemen's Pension book or Pension payment order issued to retired government employees, ex-servicemen's Widow or Dependent Certificates, Old Age Pension Order
  • Last Passport issued (in case of re-issue only)
  • Permanent Account Number(PAN)
  • - Bank Passbook or Kisan Passbook or Post Office Passbook
  • Student Photo Identity Cards issued by Recognized Educational Institutions
  • Driving Licenses (valid and within the jurisdiction of State of submission of applicant)
  • Birth Certificates issued under the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969 (18 of 1969)
  • Rations Cards

Note:

The public is advised to desist from dealing with touts/agents who may be making false promises about arranging urgent appointment or faster passport service delivery. The Government has not authorised any intermediary/representative to undertake such activity or to give such assurances. Such incidents may be reported to the concerned Regional Passport Office.


Changes of Spouse's Name


  • What is the process to endorse spouse's name on my passport?
  • To endorse the spouse's name on your passport, you have to apply for a 'Re-issue' of passport and get the specified change done in personal particulars.

  • My spouse is a foreign citizen. What document(s) do I need to submit along with my passport application to include his/her name in my passport?
  • For the applicants whose spouse is a foreign citizen and the name needs to be included in the passport, one of the following documents need to be submitted along with the passport application:
    1. Marriage Certificate issued by the Indian Mission/Post abroad.
    2. or
    3. Marriage Certificate issued by Foreign Government, duly attested/apostille either by:
      • The Indian Mission/Post in the jurisdiction from where the Marriage Certificate was issued
      • The foreign Embassy/High Commission/Consulate of that country in India
      • or
    4. Marriage Certificate issued in India by Indian authorities (Marriage Officer/Registrar of Marriage)
    5. or
    6. Marriage Certificate issued by Foreign Embassy/High Commission/Consulate of that country in India (to which the foreign spouse is a citizen)
  • My spouse is a foreign citizen. So while applying for a passport, do I need to add prefix/suffix with his/her name that denotes nationality of the belonging country?
  • While mentioning name of foreign spouse in the passport application form, no prefix/suffix denoting nationality of the spouse should be added. Only the actual name of the spouse needs to be mentioned.
